Accessibility
Document AI is built to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA (opens in a new tab), the standard the eGovPH design system sets for government services.
What this service does
- Keyboard
- Every control is reachable and operable by keyboard, and the focused control always shows a 2px outline.
- Touch targets
- Buttons, inputs and links that stand on their own are at least 44x44px, the minimum the eGovPH design system sets. A link inside a sentence is the size of its words.
- Contrast
- Body and label text meets 4.5:1. The blue is the eGovPH design system's own, and at 7.3:1 on white it meets that as text too.
- Labels
- Every input has a label, and icon-only buttons carry an accessible name.
- Status messages
- A screen reader hears the result of a search, eGovAI's finished answer, and actions like Archive or Copy once each, without the focus moving. Errors are announced as they appear.
- Zoom and reflow
- The layout reflows to a single column at 320px and survives 200% browser zoom without scrolling sideways. A wide table scrolls inside its own box, which can be reached and scrolled by keyboard.
- Motion
- When your device asks for reduced motion, the shimmer on loading placeholders, the twinkle on the Ask eGovAI spark and every other animation stop.
- Language
- Pages declare their language, and eGovAI reads documents in Filipino and English and can answer in either.
Known limitations
The pages are in English only
eGovAI reads Filipino documents and can answer in Filipino, but the service's own words — its buttons, headings and messages — are not translated yet.
Extraction quality is not a conformance promise
Values are read from a photo or a scan by an AI model. A faint or skewed document produces lower confidence, and a flagged field means the service is telling you to check it against the paper.
Reporting a barrier
If something here stopped you from doing what you came to do, tell the Department of Information and Communications Technology through dict.gov.ph (opens in a new tab). Please say which page you were on and what you were trying to do.
